“Prayer is not a pious gesture at all. It is a response to the One whose heart beats with ours.”
“Love to pray” Mother Teresa writes in No Greater Love. “Feel the need to pray often during the day. Prayer enlarges the heart until it is capable of containing God’s gift of Himself……
Let us free our minds. Let’s not pray long drawn-out prayers, but let’s pray short ones full of love.”
Prayer is a conversation. I kept an index card with the following note on it in the pocket of my scrubs all my years of nursing. I don’t know who wrote it, but I would recite it over and over. Sometimes I just held onto it.
“Don’t worry about anything. Instead pray about everything.
Tell God your needs and don’t forget to thank him for His answers.
If you do this you will experience God’s peace which is far greater than the human mind can comprehend.”
May we be blessed with voice and Divine conversation.
