“In humility we speak gently.”
[Rule of Benedict, Chapter 7]
To speak gently we must believe that our kindness is heard above the roar of the world’s self-worth. That in service we are magnified.
“We must pray for the humility it takes to find our wholeness in our littleness,” Joan Chittister writes in her book The Breath of the Soul. “It is our
down-deep incompleteness that cries out all the days of our lives to be completed.”
Please bless us today with words of grace that allow ourselves to be heard.
