“Make yourself a blessing to someone. Your kind smile or pat on the back just might pull someone back from the edge.”
[Carmelia Elliott]

In her book My Grandfather’s Blessings, Rachel Naomi Remen M.D. tells a story of possibilities within the description of the eight levels of ‘charity’, or ways of giving to others. “And finally, on the first and purest level of giving to others, a man openheartedly gives his own coat away without knowing who will receive it, and he who receives it does not know who has given it to him. Then giving becomes a natural expression of the goodness in us, and we give simply as flowers breathe out their perfume.”

May we be blessed to give freely and openly that the world and humankind will grow in love and compassion.
