“In solitude we give passionate attention to our lives, to our memories, to the details around us”
[Virginia Woolf]
Solitude and silence can be wonderful companions when they surround you. There is no hurry. They don’t push for answers.
Tom Ryan in Following Atticus writes about his experiences in the New Hampshire mountains while hiking with his beloved dog, Atticus. “It can be difficult to be alone with your thoughts without distraction for hours on end. And yet the deeper we went into the woods, the better I got to know myself.”
May we all be blessed today to find the solitude surrounding us, to go within, to be still and listen.
